King Baldwin Grand Commandery

Knights Templar of Virginia, PHA

Right Eminent Grand Commander

Sir Knights, Guests, and Friends,

Welcome to King Baldwin Grand Commandery, Knights Templar of Virginia (PHA). As we begin a new chapter, our charge is simple and sacred: live the oath we swore. We will measure our progress not by words spoken, but by needs met and lives touched—feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, uplifting the fallen, and being proficient in our ritualistic work so that our witness matches our walk.

To every Sir Knight: recommit excellence in conduct, charity, and ritual. Be present at conclaves and trainings. Mentor the newly dubbed. Lead with humility and courage. Let our armor be faith, service standard, and integrity pledge.

To our community and guests: thank you for visiting. Explore our history and programs, join us in service, or partner to expand our charitable reach. If our mission resonates with you, your collaboration can help transform compassion into tangible action across the Commonwealth.

This site is your gateway to announcements, service opportunities, calendars, and resources. Use it to stay engaged, volunteer, and report outcomes—meals delivered, garments donated, neighbors helped. Let us make charity our habit and precision our hallmark so that the Good we profess is the Good we perform.

May God guide our steps, guard our tongues, and strengthen our hands for the work ahead. Let us live our oath and duties daily in unity of purpose and brotherly love.

The mission of the King Baldwin Grand Commandery is to uphold the sacred principles of Christian chivalry, rooted in faith, duty, and brotherly love. We are committed to serving God, defending truth, and preserving the Knights Templar, Prince Hall Affiliation’s traditions and discipline with honor and integrity.

Message from the
REGC

Sir Knights,

There comes a moment in every Knight’s life when the oath we have taken shifts from mere memory to action—when the Cross we bear transforms into the love we extend to others. That moment is now.

We are not called simply to assemble, but to respond, march, and draw the world closer to mercy. Our banners are beautiful, and our rituals are noble; yet heaven measures our worth by the bread we share and the warmth we provide. When a hungry child eats because a Templar cares, our Order shines. Our vows come to life when a mother wraps her son in a clean coat on a cold night.

This year, let us be known for our deeds. May our swords symbolize the defense of the weak, and may our plumes stand as a promise that no neighbor stands alone. We will go where the needs are raw and urgent—pantries, shelters, schoolyards, and street corners—and we will arrive not as critics of our times, but as devoted servants of our King.

Feed, clothe, lift—three simple words, yet a lifetime of work. Bring your strength, skills, surplus, and Saturday mornings. Bring the new Sir Knight so he learns the rhythm of compassion. Bring your prayers and then be the answer to them.

– When you place food in an empty hand, you offer hope to a weary heart.

– When you fasten a warm coat around cold shoulders, you wrap dignity around fear.

– When you serve without seeking praise, you preach the Gospel without uttering a word.

We will organize; we will strive for excellence; but above all, we will be present. Presence is love in action. Let every Commandery become a lighthouse of provision—bins that are never empty, kitchens that are always bustling, ledgers that reflect our integrity, and hearts that remain open. We will count the cans and coats because stewardship matters, but we will measure our success by the faces we uplift—the light that returns to their eyes.

I pledge to lead with clarity, to open doors to worthy partners, and to equip you with training and straightforward plans that any Knight can implement. You will have monthly opportunities to show up, step in, and lift others. We will celebrate every victory, learn from every setback, and move forward shoulder to shoulder under the Cross’s banner.

Sir Knight, the world might not remember every meeting we held, but it will remember the nights we refused to leave our neighbors hungry and cold. Return to that moment when you gave your word. Hear it again. Feel it again. Now, live it—boldly, humbly, joyfully.

Forward, then. Into the streets, into the kitchens, into the winter winds. Feed the hungry. Clothe the naked. Lift the fallen. Let mercy be our language, discipline be our method, and Christ be our reason. If we fulfill this charge, our oath will not just be words we recited, but a life we reveal daily.
